Beautiful solid oak sleepers, available in two grades: A and B, Grade A for substantial, primarily straight edged oak timber or Grade B for substantial oak timber with the occasional split and some wane to one or two edges. Creosote treated so should always be handled with gloves.

Beautiful solid oak sleepers. Will last for many decades and offer an outstanding piece of reclaimed oak at a very low price, ideal for barn and garage lintels, borders and many other uses where the appearance of natural aged oak is necessary. Creosote treated.
Due to the nature of these sleepers, the lengths and sections sizes can vary slightly.
Please remember that although creosote treated, oak does not readily accept the treatment and so will sometimes almost appear untreated, it means that it can be used more readily for garden borders etc than other more heavily creosoted railway sleepers.
Please note that reclaimed railway sleepers have been used previously for many decades. Therefore your reclaimed sleepers may contain fragments of metal and the possibility of spray paint or markings on the surface of the sleeper. Grade A sleepers are more uniform, with none or one edge missing to the sleeper and small signs of deterioration to the sleeper. These are more likely to match and will be closer to their nominal sizing. Whereas Grade B sleepers will have serious signs of deterioration as well as missing edges and marks/knots missing throughout. They are likely to look less like square edged sleepers and will have difficulty in being stacked where parts have deteriorated. A more rustic sleeper that is still great for landscaping purposes.
