Below are some of the questions we are regularly asked, and we hope we have provided some answers for you. If you need more assistance however, please don't hesitate to contact us.

 

Delivery & Shipping

  • Can I select a delivery date?

    You can leave an order comment at the checkout with dates that work best for you to receive your order and our transport team will schedule accordingly. 

  • How can I find out more about shipping options?

    You can find all information about shipping and charges here.
     

    At the checkout, just fill in your postcode and the delivery charge will be calculated and added to your basket. If this does not happen, please either use the live chat function to speak to our sales team or call us at 01536 267107. 

  • How do you deliver your orders?

    Most of our orders are delivered using a HIAB crane vehicle up to 26 tonnes, with the crane reaching up to 5m. Our standard delivery is to the kerbside and is then offloaded for you to the nearest safe place. If there is nowhere for the driver to offload safely, they may need to leave and re-deliver on another date.

    You do not need to be present at the time of delivery as long as there is somewhere clear for our delivery driver to offload safely. If you are not able to take delivery for any reason, please get in touch with us either via phone or email as soon as possible so we can reschedule. 

    Some orders are delivered by one of our couriers depending on the dimensions and weight of the order. It is dependent on the courier how they are delivered and is entirely down to them how they do this. We send an email to confirm dispatch the day before delivery. 

  • How to report any issues with my order?

    If the product has arrived damaged, faulty or not fit for pupose, you will need to email us photos and details of the issue to sales@uksleepers.co.uk and let our customer service team look into it. Should we determine that the product was unfit for use, we will arrange either a free collection and swap for a new product or a collection and full refund for the order. The outcome is dependent on each individual case and is at our discretion. Please be aware refunds are only processed after the goods have been returned to us. 

     

    If you find that the wrong product has been ordered or you no longer require it, it can be returned within 14 days of delivery/collection as long as it is unused and in a new state. Some items such as cut to order boards and beams will incur a restocking charge and you will need to cover the cost of collection if we have to come and collect them from you. This is usually deducted from your total refund amount and the refund is only processed once the products have been returned to us and inspected. 

General

  • Can I come and view the stock / order in person?

    Our Corby sites are open to the public and therefore you can come to visit us to see our existing stock and speak to our sales team in person about your project needs. Customers are welcome to visit at any point during our opening hours and there is no need to call ahead to book a slot. Be aware that during peak hours such as lunchtime or on Saturdays, we may be busy and therefore you may have to wait for an available team member. 

  • Can I get pieces cut to order?

    We offer a comprehensive cutting service with lengths of up to 12m in Green Oak, Air Dried Oak and Untreated Softwood, with widths and thickness' up to 450mm in certain materials. Custom Cutting section can be found here

    The option for custom lengths in our Railway Sleepers, whether that is our new or reclaimed sleepers, is available with our Cross Cutting service, starting at £3.75 + VAT per cut.

  • How do I get a quotation for my project?

    The easiest way to get a quotation is to use our live chat function on the website or to email us directly to sales@uksleepers.co.uk. Please make sure your message includes the product requirements and their dimensions as well as the delivery address if delivery is required. Quotations are valid for 30 days and prices are subject to change.
