ThermoWood Decking and Cladding

29th June 2015

UK Sleepers are very excited to introduce to you a new range of Thermowood timber cladding and decking.

Cladding:

We now carry stocks of both Radiata pine Thermowood and Nordic softwood Thermowood where Radiata is very clear and knot free with a flowing, contemporary and regular appearing grain pattern and is supplied unpainted. Radiata requires no further treatment but will change colour, with the effects of ultra violet radiation, to a silvery grey. In comparison the Nordic softwood Thermowood has a little more character and a few more knots, but is painted with a hugely hard wearing paint, RAL 9005 (Jet Black), increasing durability even further.

Thermowood is ultra-heated treated timber that carries a 30 year guarantee against decay, and in addition is dimensionally very stable and will move very little even in the most severe applications.

Both of these products are incredibly beautiful and regular in appearance, and are both machined in an exacting manner. Thermowood cladding is safe to use in both external and internal applications and will provide a beautiful, long lasting solution.

Decking:

Wood decking has always been used in recent decades to bring little warmth to gardens and terraces to or to simply extend a home into the garden. The challenge that has come with this, is how to achieve the look using responsibly cropped and logs lasting timbers.

ThermoWood decking is undergone a super heat treatment to change the cell structure within the actual timber without the use of chemicals. All ThermoWood decking timber is taken from renewable sources and is the most environmentally friendly and longer lasting decking board material we have available.

As a bid to prove the longevity of ThermoWood, all timber carries a thirty year guarantee against decay; positioning them very favourably against most other alternatives such as tropical hardwoods without any environmental concerns and at less of a cost.
